About AFE 2017

The Alaska Forum on the Environment (AFE) is a statewide gathering of environmental professionals from government agencies, non-profit and for-profit businesses, community leaders, Alaskan youth, conservationists, biologists and community elders. The 2017 event will be at the Dena'ina Center in Anchorage, Alaska and will be our 19th year providing a strong educational foundation for all Alaskans and a unique opportunity to interact with others on environmental issues and challenges. Green Star is a program now operated with the support of the Alaska Forum, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The Green Star Program supports businesses and organizations that wish to practice waste reduction, energy conservation and pollution prevention through education, technical assistance, and an award-winning voluntary "green business" certification program. About Apprenticeship

The Alaska Forum is the registered sponsor of the Environmental Technician Apprenticeship Program by the US Department of Labor. An Environmental Technician Apprentice will receive specific classroom instruction and work 4,000 hours of on-the-job training to develop skills as a proficient and versatile worker.
