Description: <b>Abstract:</b> This layer represents locations of American Indian reservations in Alaska.<br/> <b>Purpose:</b> This layer is used to support EPA's analysis of regulated facilities, and environmental monitoring stations with regard to existence on or near Tribal lands.<br/> <b>Supplemental Information:<b/> This layer is built by combining boundaries from the 2010 Census American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian Areas (AIANNH) data (visit http://www.census.gov/geo/www/tiger for details) with Federally recognized Tribal Entity Names as provided by EPA's Tribal Identification web service (found at http://www.exchangenetwork.net/data-exchange/epa-tribal-identification-tribes/ ). The relationships between Tribal Areas and Tribal Entities were built during earlier work by EPA's American Indian Environmental Office (AIEO) while developing the Tribal Information Management System (TIMS), and updated to account for the latest Tribal Area and Tribal Entity additions.
